What is BIMI Record Generator?
A BIMI record generator helps you compose a valid Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) DNS TXT record. Defined in RFC 8616 and published at default._bimi.yourdomain.com, BIMI points receiving mail servers at your square SVG logo (the l= tag) and your authority evidence such as a Verified Mark Certificate (the a= tag), so authenticated email from your domain renders with your brand logo in Gmail, Apple Mail, and other supporting inboxes. This tool builds the exact v=BIMI1 record, validates that both URLs are HTTPS, and warns about missing certificates and DMARC prerequisites.
Key Benefits
- Emits the exact v=BIMI1 syntax receivers expect, avoiding silently ignored records
- Validates HTTPS URLs for the logo and certificate before you publish
- Warns when the a= tag is missing, since Gmail and Apple Mail require a VMC
- Tracks record length against the 253-character TXT string limit
Common Use Cases
- β’Brand logo display in Gmail and Apple Mail inboxes
- β’Phishing and spoofing deterrence through visual verification
- β’Email deliverability and authentication programs alongside SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- β’Auditing or rebuilding existing BIMI records after a logo change
How to Create a BIMI Record
- Prepare your SVG logo: Export a square logo as SVG in the SVG Tiny PS profile (no scripts, no external references) and host it at an HTTPS URL on your domain.
- Enter the logo URL: Paste the HTTPS URL of the SVG into the logo location field. The generator adds it as the l= tag of the record.
- Add your VMC certificate: If you have a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate (CMC), paste its HTTPS URL to add the a= tag. Gmail and Apple Mail require a certificate before displaying logos.
- Publish the TXT record: Copy the generated v=BIMI1 record and publish it as a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com. Make sure DMARC is already at p=quarantine or p=reject, then send a test email to check the logo renders.
Key Features
- Builds v=BIMI1 records with l= logo and a= authority evidence tags per RFC 8616
- HTTPS URL validation for both the SVG logo and VMC certificate links
- Warns when the l= or a= tag is missing, insecure, or malformed
- Publishes at default._bimi.yourdomain.com with length tracking against the TXT limit
- Reminds you of DMARC prerequisites (p=quarantine or stricter) required for logo display
- One-click copy and download of the TXT record, fully client-side
