What is Mouse Tester?
The Mouse Tester turns a corner of your browser into a diagnostics bench: it counts left, middle, and right button presses, measures the exact millisecond gap of your double clicks, tracks scroll direction and steps, shows live pointer coordinates, and draws a heatmap of where your clicks land - all locally, with nothing to install.
Key Benefits
- Instantly identify dead or double-firing mouse buttons
- Measure real double-click gaps in milliseconds
- Detect scroll wheel encoder issues via direction and step counts
- Completely local - no install, no drivers, no data collection
Common Use Cases
- •Checking a new or secondhand mouse before relying on it
- •Diagnosing intermittent clicks and scroll skips
- •Comparing mice or switches before an upgrade
- •Verifying double-click registration in games and design work
- •Quick checks after cleaning or repairing a mouse
Test Your Mouse
- Click inside the test area: Press the left, middle, and right buttons several times. Each press increments its counter instantly.
- Measure your double click: Click the same button twice in quick succession. The tool shows the millisecond gap and flags anything within 500 ms as a double click.
- Scroll and move: Roll the scroll wheel in both directions to see direction, step count, and total delta, and watch the live pointer coordinates follow your hand.
- Read the heatmap and reset: The heatmap shows where your clicks landed across the test area. Press Reset stats to start a fresh test.
