Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between ISO A sizes and US Letter?
ISO A sizes use a 1:sqrt(2) aspect ratio and millimetre rounding from ISO 216. A4 is 210 by 297 mm. US Letter is 8.5 by 11 inches (215.9 by 279.4 mm) and is slightly shorter and wider than A4.
How are pixels calculated?
Pixels equal inches times DPI. This tool uses 1 inch = 25.4 mm. Choose 96 DPI for many screen layouts or 300 DPI for print raster exports. Rounding is to the nearest pixel.
Are ANSI A and US Letter the same?
Yes. ANSI A is defined as 8.5 by 11 inches, the same as US Letter. ANSI B matches Tabloid (11 by 17 inches). Larger ANSI sizes continue that doubling pattern.
Is this a printer driver or paper-stock catalog?
No. It converts named sheet sizes and units in the browser. It does not query printers, finishing options, or merchant SKUs.
