What is Image Steganography Tool?
Image Steganography is a free browser tool that hides UTF-8 text in the least-significant bits of RGB pixels and writes a PNG you can decode later on the same page.
Key Benefits
- Hide a short note inside an ordinary-looking PNG
- Recover text from a PNG saved by this tool
- See how many bytes the cover image can hold
- Keep images on the device with no server upload
Common Use Cases
- β’Tucking a caption or reminder into a PNG you already share
- β’Checking that a downloaded PNG still contains a WTH1 payload
- β’Teaching how LSB steganography stores bits in color channels
- β’Avoiding a separate text file next to a screenshot
How to Use Image Steganography
- Choose Hide or Reveal: Use Hide to write a message into a cover image, or Reveal to read a PNG that was saved by this tool.
- Add a cover image: Drop a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF. Capacity is three bits per pixel minus an 8-byte header. Output is always PNG.
- Hide the text: Type the secret, then hide it and download the PNG. Do not re-save as JPEG or the payload is lost.
- Reveal later: Open the downloaded PNG on the Reveal tab. The tool reads the WTH1 header and UTF-8 payload from RGB least-significant bits.
Key Features
- LSB hide and reveal for UTF-8 text in RGB pixels
- Capacity meter based on image width and height
- PNG download so the payload is not lost to JPEG compression
- Accepts PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF covers
- Runs entirely in the browser with no upload
Frequently Asked Questions
Is hidden text encrypted?
No. Least-significant-bit steganography only conceals the bytes. Anyone who opens the PNG in this tool can read the message. Use a separate cipher first if you need secrecy against that.
Why must I download PNG instead of JPEG?
JPEG quantization changes pixel values and wipes the payload bits. PNG is lossless, so the least-significant bits you wrote stay intact.
Will another steganography app find my message?
Only if it uses the same WTH1 header and RGB bit order. Generic LSB scanners may notice noise but will not decode this payload without the header layout.
Does the image leave my browser?
No. Encoding and decoding run in this page. You can use the tool offline after the page has loaded.
