What is Apple App Site Association Generator?
This tool builds the apple-app-site-association (AASA) JSON file that connects your website to your iOS app through Universal Links. Enter your app IDs, define the URL paths your app handles, optionally enable Shared Web Credentials, and copy or download a ready-to-deploy file.
Key Benefits
- No hand-editing fragile JSON syntax
- Live validation of app ID and path formats
- Supports multiple apps sharing the same paths
- Optional webcredentials section included
- Instant copy and download, works offline
Common Use Cases
- β’Set up Universal Links for a new iOS release
- β’Share password autofill between website and app
- β’Migrate link routing when adding a second app
- β’Regenerate the AASA after adding marketing campaign URLs
How to Generate an AASA File
- Enter your app IDs: Add one or more app IDs in TEAMID.BUNDLE_ID format, e.g. ABCDE12345.com.example.app. You can add several apps to share the same link paths.
- Define path rules: List supported paths one per line, e.g. /articles/* or /invite/?code=*. Prefix a line with NOT to exclude it, e.g. NOT /private/*.
- Add optional sections: Toggle webcredentials if your app shares passwords with your website, then list your domains.
- Copy, download, deploy: Download the generated JSON, host it at https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/apple-app-site-association without a file extension, serve it as application/json over HTTPS, then reinstall the app to refresh.
